Happy New Year all

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

I’ve not been around the past few months, things got real difficult towards the end of last year. This was for personal reasons.

I just hope all my friends, family and colleagues had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I hope this year will be peaceful for all. I’ve got several personal goals to meet this year. Which will be quite challenging. Needless to say, I’m going to be happy to graduate in May. Simply because it’s been a long tough road and I really need something for my efforts and my career now. I will try to update this actively throughout the year as I have so much planned (I’d rather not release everything here). If you want to find out things that I have planned just stay tuned. More to come in later blog posts.

Right now, I’m focused on getting the target grades that I want for my target degree classification! Easier said then done. Wish me luck!

I have some assessments (other students) to give feedback on as part of my third assignment. The whole focus on Humanitarian intervention and the UN’s doctrine on the responsibility to protect has been interesting. Something I will expand upon in a post here when I have time.

Four pictures of what I’ve been up to the past two months (yes, that’s all I have but I’ve done more than that!)

Whilst writing this, I was listening to Architechs – Body Groove

I will be going back to Oxford quite a bit this year. Got one trip already planned. I really should have gone back there more often! But I’ve been so busy.

I know I say it all the time, but I’ll try to post more often. Happy new year everyone and take care! πŸ™‚

DD313 Materials have arrived!

So, my DD313 module materials have arrived! I actually meant to publish this last week. But I’m all ready to start my final Open Uni module in October.

I’m eager to get started. Though I know when the going gets tough, I’ll be looking for the end!

Brussels for the nth time :)

Brussels for the nth time πŸ™‚ – My return for the day on Tuesday 16th June 2015.

It’s nice to be back in Brussels as always. Even if I found it extremely tiring (got back at 10:30pm after my French lesson the Monday) then had to be up extremely early as I booked an earlier Eurostar train then usual, up at 5:30am. Then kind of ran out of places to go, not enough time, and too tired to think. There are tons more places in the city that I have not even explored yet, but they can’t be done in a day. I will only do a max of two more visits this year before saving up for the future.

In terms of University news. I was extremely disappointed that the Open university stopped graduation ceremonies in Versailles. Very, very upset about this. I was so looking forward to it. It was going to be one of the highlights of my 2016. So now, it’s not to be. I’m still not sure of the reasoning behind it. It seems a tad opaque. The OU cited costs, how much would they have needed to charge to make it profitable? Could it have had anything to do with government funding? I’ve been local for a way to become more vocal on this issue. Below is the letter sent by the OU to students. Is it just me who finds the explanation a bit hazy? πŸ™

Letter from the OU about the withdrawal of Versailles as a place of graduation.

So, here are a few videos that I took of my trip to Brussels. Enjoyed my time there even if it was just a day!

My images of that week are below, they are in random order.

Lastly, Rest in Peace to all those killed in terror attacks worldwide. Good and freedom will always prevail. Also, sad to hear of the tragic events in Belgium that killed a coach driver, and left many injured schoolchildren and teachers from Brentwood, Essex.

TMA 2 just needs submitting then Christmas is here :)

Christmas Bells

Hope your having a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas πŸ™‚

I’ve completed TMA 2. Found it a challenge. Had a extension. It’s been rushed but being checked for grammar now! I’m now just waiting for Christmas and to be honest I can’t wait. I really, really must give myself more time for TMA 3. And I should not stress about not having a girlfriend (no time for one) or just sit around and procrastinate, hahah!!

One more day left of work then its Christmas Day.

———————-

Updated 26/12/2012: Has this saved but not published. Christmas Day has come and gone. Food all in my belly for another year! Can’t wait for things to get back to normal.

Start going to the gym again but I’m not too keen on getting down to study though. Submitted my essay on the 23rd, I was given a three day extension. Could have done better really. Next essay is getting started early. I know I said that about the last TMA, but I really need to!

Next book to read is all about Ethics (Book 3). The study planner says I should start on the 29th. Will try to start a little earlier πŸ™‚

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas Day and hope you all have a happy New Year πŸ™‚

Barely Breathing!

Book number 2 - The philosophy of religion

The Philosophy of Religion – TrΓ¨s difficile πŸ™

Don’t worry though it’s just a cold I got (I don’t often have them) and its not that bad.

I’ve still been around. Just not got around to posting much. Enjoying Exploring Philosophy but finding the module a real drag. The first essay was probably the worst piece of work I have ever submitted and was under the word count. Still I’m looking ahead to improve on the second. The second book is the Philosophy of Religion. I’m struggling mostly with the concept of putting an ‘I’ in an essay and forming arguments in philosophy more then before.

This module is gonna be a real struggle. I knew it anyway. My brain just doesn’t function the way a philosophers would. Yet, I’ll try. I need this module. It compulsary πŸ™

Had my tutorial at the London School of Economics again yesterday. I think more of these sessions are needed its the discussion factor I am lacking. I don’t get to talk to anyone about the arguments or philosophy which you do need. That’s my one criticism. Overall, I feel negative about the whole module today. I just wanna get it out the way and onto Politics and Economics.

Outside the degree a bit..

I’m going to begin saving for a new car soon (woop). Ages before I can get one though. There were plenty of things I wanted to say, however when I opened up to start writing I forgot everything. Ah well.

Btw, For those wondering what module and degree I’m doing and where etc. I am aiming to achieve a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. You can find out more about my current module here.

The blog is running on a new superduper betterer server πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜›
All high speed and stuff. Much better.

Peace all. My twitter thing on the left no longer works. I’ll get it fixed soon but you can see my instagrams πŸ™‚

TMA 7 of DD101 gone.. and some new updates!

Politics and Philosophy books

Well, I just hurriedly sent off my last assignment for DD101 my first open university module. Happy to get it out the way. Feels like I just sent a heap of junk in though!

I went to a Language taster evening at the open university’s centre in Camden on Wednesday. I actually surprised myself with how much French I actually remembered!! Anyway the real eye catcher was the lovely girl opposite me and we kept stealing glances. She spoke perfect French as her grandmother was French. Very attractive!

I’m now fully registered up for A222 and officially started my next module exploring philosophy. I’m holding off on doing two modules as I really don’t want to overload myself especially as philosophy requires a clear mind!

I love Camden town and there are always so many things going on and pretty ladies.
The atmosphere and vibe is amazing, when I’m not sprinting to uni! I need to spend more time there πŸ˜€

I plan on joining the gym on payday too and actually going. So lookout for a fitter mixedmatt! Also in the not to distant future I hope to get my feet back into a go-kart again… When I have the time and funds. Hope all my faithful readers are fine…

Love you all πŸ™‚

Reading Chapter 7 (Governing problems) then Western Philosophy

Western Philosophy - An Anthology

I’m reading Western Philosophy – By John Cottingham

I’m now back on track on week 27 of my course. Reading chapter 7 out of my module materials (Governing problems). I’m going to do everything I can to keep up and not fall behind till the end πŸ™‚

I’ve started reading the Western Philosophy book I ordered from Amazon. It’s really thick and seems like it will require heaps of concentration. I’m going to read some of it later I hope. I really can’t afford to fall behind with two modules, with one it’s really tricky catching up let alone two! I really like some of the quotes though. Really want to read it more but need to find some time.

I bought a new watch and it arrived last week. Had to have a few links removed at G.Mantella in Enfield Town. It’s real shiny though. Might take a piccy πŸ˜‰

Last week I downloaded John Lennon’s Discography. Mainly just because I wanted to hear imagine because it sounded amazing at the closing ceremony. I’ve developed a new enthusiasm for his music. It was already there (a friend in Argentina shes a big fan) but I didn’t take that much notice.

Anyway, I look forward to getting week 27 out the way so I can move on with closing out my module and I need to stay ahead or with the weeks at least πŸ˜›
